Tyler Junior College Expanding Lindale Campus JWC | 20-May-2009
Tyler Junior College (TJC), which opened a Lindale campus in Fall 2008 is expanding the campus to include a nursing program and continuing education courses. With assistance from the Lindale Economic Development Corporation the college has leased additional space in the Identity Center to provide space for the additional classes. In the additional space, TJC will create a third classroom and lab space. The third classroom is under construction at this time, and the nursing classes will begin in Fall 2009.
TJC has also scheduled continuing education classes in Lindale. The continuing education classes will include a variety of computer related courses. Other courses can be made available based on demand and interest. Registration is available now for these classes.
Other classes avaialable in Lindale for the Summer 2009 semesters include freshman english, history, math and art appreciation. Registration is available now for these classes.
TJC officials and the City, Chamber and Lindale EDC have formed a close partnership in the Lindale endeavor. It is anticipated that successful programming in the Identity Center space will lead to a full Lindale campus of TJC within the next three to five years.
