Two New Hotels Open In Lindale John W. Clary | 09-Jun-2008
Two new hotels, a Comfort Suites and a La Quinta Inn now call Lindale home. Both are located adjacent to each other near the intersection of Centennial Blvd. and US Hwy 69 (Main Street), just blocks off of I-20.
Construction on both facilities started last Fall and was completed within the past few weeks. Comfort Suites has 67 rooms and the La Quinta has 62 rooms so in all, the two new hotels increase Lindale's available hotel rooms from 219 to 348.
Lindale's hotel occupancy rate is fairly high, so these two hotels should provide some much needed flexibility to the guests who stay here in Lindale.
In additon to drawing a high number of overnight guests due to Lindale's location along I-20 and halfway between Dallas Fort Worth, and Shreveport, area events contribute greatly to the high occupancy rate.
Lindale/Tyler was recently chosen as the site for the 2009 International Karting Federation Grand Nationals. According to Lindale Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Shelbie Glover, "The availability of the additional rooms in Lindale had a great impact on the selection of Lindale/Tyler as the host cities." The Karting Grand Nationals is expected to have 500 racers, plus their friends and families in the area for several days.
Other events tend to sell out Lindale's allotment of hotel rooms such as the Canton Trade Days, a monthly event held 35 miles away in Canton. Also Lindale holds several annual events such as the recent 21st Annual I-20 Team Real Estate Lindale Championship Rodeo which sold out Lindale's allotment of hotel rooms.
Both new hotels have features typically found in these brands of new hotels such as an indoor pool & spa, breakfast area, fitness center and a business center.
