The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking public input on two proposed route options for the Loop 49/US 69 Lindale relief route at a pair of public meetings to be held November 27, 2007. After several public meetings, and hundreds of comments, TXDOT has narrowed its recommendations to two routes known as Route D and Route G. According to TXDOT public information officer, Larry Krantz TXDOT will only be discussing these two routes at this public meeting.
The first segment of Loop 49 is already completed on the south side of Tyler. The segment near Lindale extends from I-20 northward to US 69 on the north side of Lindale. The projected routes are between Hideaway and Lindale and are the same until they split north Hwy 16. The projected intersections with US 69 are 1,500 feet apart.
